Anthony G. Trinchini


Anthony Giacomo Trinchini, 90, affectionately known as Jap, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, December 19, 2021. He was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.

He was the son of the late Innocenzo and Theresa (Marinucci) Trinchini who, in 1928, emigrated from Italy to Springfield. He grew up in the South End, where he lived for 58 years, moving to West Springfield in 1989.

Jap was a proud member of Local 357 Union Ironworkers where he worked as an ironworker for 40 years, and a business agent for 6 years, retiring in 1993.Jap loved life and lived it to the fullest. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and loving caregivers Tracy, Gina & Samantha.

He was predeceased, in 2009, by his devoted wife of 53 years, Joan M. (Chisholm) Trinchini, as well as siblings, Vincenzo, Mario & Frank Trinchini, and RoseCosta.

Jap is survived by his loving sister, Italia Cecchini of Southwick, daughter, Susan Trinchini of West Springfield, son, James Trinchini & wife Sandra of West Springfield, two loving grandchildren, Jenna Trinchini of New York City & Anthony Trinchini of West Springfield, and many loving nephews & nieces.

Because of these uncertain times, in an effort to keep everyone safe, Jap’s visiting hours and entombment in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum were private.
