Deloris Pozzi

Deloris “Nina” (Lasser) Pozzi, 91, formerly of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 16, 2021.

Born in Whitaker, PA, she was the daughter of the late Gustaf & Theresa (Migro) Lasser.

After retiring from Aetna, at 55, Nina enjoyed cruises and trips to Las Vegas. Then, after returning to work as a Constant Companion for Baystate Medical Center, at 77 Nina enjoyed her second retirement. She was an amazing golfer, enjoyed bowling and participated in league play for many years. She enjoyed dancing, dining out, going to the casino, gathering with family & friends, and especially watching her great-granddaughter Cassie dance.

Sadly, Nina was predeceased by both of her beloved husbands, Maj. Robert J. Wetmore, Sr., and William A. Pozzi, three dear children, Robert J. Wetmore Jr., Cynthia L. Kardynal, and Judy L. Scannell, and five cherished siblings, Gustaf, Margaret, Clara, Theresa, and twin brother Henry.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Rachel Lorom & husband Donald of Southwick, and Andrew Scannell of West Springfield, great-granddaughter, Cassie Lorom of Southwick, nephew, Gustaf Lasser & wife Tina of Whitaker, PA, son-in-law, Jeff Scannell of West Springfield, and other extended family.

Nina’s family sends a heartfelt thank you to the staff, too numerous to name, at Genesis Westfield Center where she resided for 5 years, for their loving care.

Visiting hours are Tuesday, December 21, 4-6 p.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield. Nina’s graveside committal will be Thursday, December 23, 1 p.m., meeting at Hillcrest Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America is strongly urged to help research this disease that has plagued Nina’s family for years.
