Demetrios Konstantopoulos


Demetrios Konstantopoulos, 85, affectionately known as Jimmy the Greek, passed away peacefully at home on June 15, 2023. Born in Tripoli, Greece, he was the son of the late Elias D. & Christina (Stratigakis) Konstantopoulos.

Jim was a very energetic man; not much could hold him back. Whether it was zip lining through Costa Rica or parasailing in Mexico, he was always the first in line. He loved his family, was a kind soul and generous in spirit. He was the proud owner of the Castaway Loungein Whately for 45 years.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara (DeMusis) Konstantopoulos, son, Jason, sisters, Helen Kostas andPatricia Grimaldi & husband Luciano, several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

All are invited to visit on Tuesday, June 20th from 3-5 p.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield. On Wednesday we will meet at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Springfield for Jim’s 11 a.m. Funeral Mass, proceeding to his burial at Hillcrest Park Cemetery.
