Dorothy Emeline Strebel, 99, passed away peacefully at Chestnut Hill of E. Longmeadow on January 3, 2020. Born in Indianapolis, IN, she was the daughter of Bertha (Baker) & John G. Strebel. Dorothy lived most of her life in Springfield, graduating from Commerce High School & Bay Path College.
Dorothy worked for American Bosch as a secretary to the head buyer and retired from MassMutual in 1984 after 36 years in the Policy Accounts Department.
She was an active member of South Congregational Church for 65 years where she served as a Deacon and was on many church committees. She was a member of the Springfield Women’s Club, Quadrangle Genealogical Society, AARP, & Beta Sigma Phi. She was a volunteer in many organizations for many years. Dorothy will be remembered for her love of animals, especially her cats, and for her kind & giving spirit. She will be fondly missed by her many friends, especially her special friend Eleanor Bystrynski of Brewster.
