James Edward Bradshaw, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 22, 2021.
Born on April 3, 1933, in Winston-Salem, NC, he was the son of the late English and Helen (Lucas) Bradshaw. He worked for Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority, retiring in 1999, before returning to Springfield. James was a Korean War Veteran, proudly serving his country in the Army's 82nd Airborne Division.
James is predeceased by his wife Hope Elaine Bradshaw who passed in 1976. He leaves behind his current wife, Jacqueline (Neal) Bradshaw, sons, Mark B. Bradshaw & wife Rhonda of Palmer, MA, Jefferey A. Bradshaw of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Anna Bradshaw of Lewiston, ID. Additionally, James leaves his niece, Joy Hinton & husband Travis of W. Brookfield, MA., brother, English Bradshaw of NC, and sister, Lillie Mae Martin of FL. “Gramp” will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Gennifer Mellor & husband Jason of Philadelphia, PA, GeoffereyBradshaw & fiancée Amanda Schilling of S. Hadley, MA, Sean Bradshaw & wife Jamie of Springfield, Marckus Bradshaw & wife Vanessa of Rockwell, TX, several great-grandchildren, and extended family.
A very special, heartfelt thank you, goes to the staff at The Wellington at Springfield, and all his nurses & caregivers for the care and compassion they showed James.
Funeral services will be private, and a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
