Judith F. Ceravolo


Judith (Rueli) Ceravolo passed peacefully at home,Friday, December 31, 2021, surrounded by family.

Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. & Rose (Moreno) Rueli.

A graduate of Cathedral High School, Judy went on to work for the Springfield School Department for over 30 years; and was a former President of the Cafeteria Workers Union. A faithful lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Judy was heavily involved in its activities; founding committee member of Taste of Italy, Chairperson of Saint Vincent de Paul Society, and a member of the Women’s Guild.

Judy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Ceravolo Sr., son, Joseph Jr., fraternal twin brother Francis, and sister Josephine Rueli.

She is survived by her son, Reno Ceravolo & wife Jeanne, daughters, Catherine-Mary Shea & husband John, and Victoria Green & fiancé Jeffrey Ponder, sisters, Rose Costa & husband David, Susan Manchester, Gina Rueli, and brother, Joseph Rueli Jr. & wife Donna, grandchildren Michael Green & wife Cristina, Anthony Green & wife Sabrina, Allison Green, John Shea Jr., and Courtney Shea, and great-grandchildren, Mykella, King, Zayden, and Emelia.

Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, January 6, 5-7 p.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield. Judy’s funeral will begin Friday, 9 a.m. at Tazzini’s, proceeding to her 10 a.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery. Masks are required.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Church or St. Vincent de Paul Society.
