Kathryn Elaine Coglizer, age 77, passed away on July 18, 2019 at Heritage Hall South, Agawam, MA. She was born on July 28, 1941 in Scranton, PA, the only child of the late Atty. Robert G. and Claire C. (O’Neill) Coglizer. Upon graduation from Syracuse University in 1963, she was employed by the Massachusetts Mutual Insurance Company. She subsequently moved on to Connecticut General as an Underwriting Analyst, and then Cigna Corporation, from which she retired in 1996. Kathryn was a member of the Old First Church in Springfield since 1963 where she was actively involved on several Boards and Committees. She devoted much of her time, talents and support to the Church, particularly its music program, and to seeing to the complete renovation of the church’s Aeolian-Skinner organ. A member of several musical organizations, she served on the Board of the CONCORA Bach Society of Hartford, and the Tuesday Morning Music Club of Springfield where she was Membership Secretary for several years. She is survived by three cousins, David Sickler and his wife Karen of Howell, NJ, Ronald Sickler and his wife Cynthia of Freehold, NJ and Joseph Sickler, Jr. of Plainsboro, NJ. Her friends and family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Heritage Hall South, Heritage Dialysis Center and Bay State Hospice for their compassion and care. Tazzini Funeral Home is entrusted with Kathryn's final arrangements. At her request, there will be no calling hours and no local services. She will be buried in the family plot in Dunmore Cemetery, Dunmore, PA at a later date.
