Lorraine "Lolly" Serra

Lorraine “Lolly” (Artioli) Serra, 88, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 22, 2021.

Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Ettore & Argia (Casoni) Artioli.

Lorraine touched the lives of countless children over her 32 years employed by the Springfield Public Schools. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies, L’Stella d’Italia & Golden Agers clubs, and as a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, a member of the Women’s Guild.

She loved to travel, making many new friends along the way. She prided herself on her Italian cooking and was well known for her tortellini.

Lorraine was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, but her most cherished role was that of Nonni.

She will be dearly missed by her daughter Lynn Serra-Douglas & husband Bill, sister, Corina Dalessio, daughter-in-law, Kathy Serra, grandchildren, Nicholas, Marissa, Colin, Drew & Max, and many nieces and nephews.

Sadly, Lorraine was also predeceased by her beloved husband, Adolfo and cherished son, Paul, who were both taken too early in life, along with her siblings, Henry Artioli & Paula Buendo.

Family and friends are invited to Lorraine’s funeral services Thursday, October 28, with a visitation from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield, proceeding to her 10:30 a.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial at Mt. Carmel Church. Masks are required. Her burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, www.Macular.org.
