Luigi Sarno


Luigi Sarno, 81, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Bracigliano, Italy, he was the son of the late, Giovanni & Carmela (Sarno) Sarno.

Luigi will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Maria (Vivenzio) of 58 years, his sons, Paul & wife Christine of Wilbraham, and John & wife Tammy of Springfield, daughter, Lisa Sarno of Springfield, beloved grandchildren, Sebastian, Joseph & Ella, brother,Vincenzo & wife Michelina of Italy, and sister, Rosa Stellato of Springfield.

Luigi enjoyed working at Smith & Wesson and Springfield Technical Community College in Springfield, where he met many of his lifelong friends.

Luigi also enjoyed tending to his garden, winemaking, playing bocce, watching his favorite football club, S.S.C. Napoli, and spending time with his grandchildren. What he especially loved the most was sitting around the dinner table with his family and close friends.

Luigi’s wake will be held Tuesday, January 19 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, located at 22 Locust Street in Springfield. His family hopes to keep everyone safe by making this a walk-through wake. We ask that there be no gathering inside the building along with no physical interactions. Masks will be required,and social distancing will be observed.

Luigi’s funeral will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital, Development Office, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
