Marie R. LaRocque
Marie Rose (Vona) LaRocque, 67, was called safely home on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, David LaRocque, and parents, Samuel and Dora (Betto) Vona, Jr.
Marie leaves behind her loving brother, Samuel Vona, III, cherished nephew, Nicholas S. Vona & girlfriend Nikki LeVitre, beloved uncle, Rocco Basile, Sr., brother-in-law, Wayne LaRocque & spouse Gerry Caldwell, sister-in-law, Michele LaRocque, cousins; Martha, Gina, Ann, Rocco Jr., & Roseann, and friend, Jana Obenoskey, along with other friends & extended family.
Born and raised in Springfield, Marie graduated from the High School of Commerce. She worked for Women’s Specialty Retailing, The Icing, A&P Corporate Office, and most recently as an Executive Assistant in the Finance Division at Baystate Health for over 26 years.
In 1992, Marie married her soulmate, Dave. They were blessed with over 23 years of marriage. She loved spending time with her family and friends, her vacation home in Vermont and vacations at the beach. Throughout the years, she attended weekly Mass and Saint Anthony Novena with her family at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Marie’s family would like to thank Dr. Parsons and her staff at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute for their loving care.
Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, March 7, from 8-9 a.m., at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield, proceeding to Marie’s 10:00 a.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial at Mt. Carmel Church. Burial will be private.
