Mary F. Richard

Mary Frances (Newton) Richard, 83, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2023, following a lengthy illness.

She was predeceased by her loving daughter, Deanna Newhouse.

Mary will be missed dearly by Ronald Richard, her adoring and devoted husband of 45 years, sons, Eric Newhouse of Eastham, MA, William Newhouse (Linda) of Clinton, CT, Fred Newhouse (Robin) of Chester, VA, daughters, Susan Brusa (Jason) of Feeding Hills and Tara Newhouse of Leesburg, FL, stepsons, Ronald Richard, Jr. of Denver, CO and Michael Richard (Debbie) of Merritt Island, FL, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary worked for many years as a school cafeteria cook at Kiley Junior High School, the meat department in A&P Food Mart, and retired in her seventies, after 19 pleasant years, from Arnold’s Meat in East Longmeadow. She was a very determined person, and her work ethic was unmatched.

Mary believed in life, even when it was tough. She was one of the strongest women and knew how to laugh at life. She gave comfort even when one didn’t realize they needed it. She was called "Mom" by many of her children’s friends. “I’m ok” was her typical response, not wanting to burden anyone. She enjoyed travelling and going to casinos with Ron. She enjoyed watching NASCAR and classic westerns. She loved bowling and enjoyed playing and travelling in bowling leagues, a total of 19 states with the ladies. Mary will be missed by so many.

Services will be private at a later date.
