Peter A. Alicea, 62, passed away, surrounded by family, February 26, 2020. Born in Springfield in 1958, he was the son of the late Pedro Alicea & Elizabeth (Cuoco) Santiago.
Peter worked hard in construction, running his general contracting business for many years. He loved cooking, politics, & football, and was an avid animal lover; having rescued several dogs & cats. He could always be counted on to lend a helping hand or give a word of advice to his friends, family, or complete strangers. He was known for his lectures & stories, and...for never being on time.
Peter will be dearly missed by his life partner, Paula Bogacz, son, Peter Zaborowski of CT, daughters, Stacy Hill (Doug) of Spencer, Elizabeth Antaya of Agawam, and Cassidy Bogacz-Alicea of Ludlow, brother, Michael Alicea, Jr. of W. Springfield, sister, Rose Bousquet of VA, and several grand & great-grandchildren. Sadly, Peter was also pre-deceased by his sister Barbara Curran.
As was Peter’s wish, a private burial was held on Monday, March 2, 2020 at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
