Phyllis A. Santaniello


Phyllis Anne (Torcia) Santaniello, 87, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 16, 2019. Born in Springfield, she was the daughter of the late Michael A. & Anna (Curto) Torcia. She graduated High School of Commerce class of 1950. Phyllis was the consummate homemaker; she was happiest surrounded by her entire family. Her cooking, especially her meatballs, and Sunday family dinners will be cherished forever. Her greatest joy, however, was caring & advocating for the love of her life, the late Ralph A. Santaniello, Sr. Phyllis will be dearly missed by her sons Ralph A., Jr. & wife Jean of Springfield, Anthony J. & wife Elaine of E. Longmeadow; daughter Christine M. Goodwin & husband John of Springfield; brothers Michael & Francis Torcia both of E. Longmeadow; cherished grandchildren Carla Ryan & husband Jon, Cristin Goodwin, Annemarie Goodwin-Tarquini, Ralph A. Santaniello, III, Anthony J. Santaniello, Jr., Allie Santaniello; and her 7 beautiful great-grandchildren; along with several very dear nieces & nephews. . A visiting hour will be Thursday, September 19, 9-10 a.m., at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust St. in Springfield, proceeding to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for 11, with her burial to follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Phyllis may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc.
