Ralph Anthony Cardaropoli, 88, died unexpectedly at home, May 23, 2022. Born in Springfield on September 21, 1933, he was the son of the late Alphonso & Giovannina (Denisi) Cardaropoli, formerly of Bracigliano, Italy.
Ralph was predeceased by his beloved wife of 66 years, Jean (Yelle). He leaves his daughter Linda of Springfield, his son Al and wife Pauline of South Hadley, his grandchildren Alex LaMarche of Springfield & Cezza Cardaropoli of West Springfield, sisters-in-law Joan Cardaropoli of Feeding Hills and Carole Asselin and her husband Richard of Westfield, brother-in-law Gary Yelle of Gilbertville and many nieces & nephews, along with other extended family. He was predeceased by his brother Jim, and sisters Carmela, Mary, Yolanda, & Katherine.
Ralph retired from the U.S.P.S. in 1992 and was an active member of the Pleasant View Senior Center, the Springfield Elks lodge 61, and the Dante Club in West Springfield. He enjoyed many years of candlepin bowling and playing bocce.
Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, May 31, 5-7 p.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield. Ralph’s funeral will begin Wednesday, 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with a prayer service at 10:30,proceeding to his entombment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery’s Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum.
