Robert P. Ollari


Robert P. Ollari, 57, passed away surrounded by his wife and family on January 7, 2022. Rob will be deeply missed and remembered for his warmth, sense of humor, and love of life's simple pleasures.

Born and raised in Springfield, he was the son of Ida (Lacivita) Ollari of Springfield, and the late Richard L. Ollari.

After graduating from Cathedral High School, he later earned a degree from Westfield State University. Rob co-owned Casa de Nana in Springfield for over thirty years and always greeted his friends and family with a warm hug, good joke, and a margarita. Later, he worked at Westfield Technical Academy for twenty years where he was beloved by his coworkers and students. Alongside his loving wife Karen and his family, Rob spent his free time traveling to Florida and enjoyed summer on the beaches of Rhode Island. Rob loved following New England sports, cooking, singing, smoking a cigar in front of a fire, and his faithful dogs Cabo and Gansett. He also enjoyed various trips to destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico, and Europe.

Along with his father, he was predeceased by many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. Rob will be missedimmensely by his wife, Karen Ollari, children, TaylorOllari and Carlie Ollari & fiancé Geoffrey Biron,stepson, Brandon Chaja, mother Ida Ollari, brother Richard & wife Linda, uncles Lambert Ollari & wife Connie, and Alexander Chwalek, aunt, Helen Mackowicki, mother & father-in-law, Evelyn & Walter Chaja, and brothers-in-law Daniel & Walter Chaja. In addition to his immediate family, Rob leaves many cherished cousins, extended family, and friends. Rob bravely faced a brain cancer diagnosis and made his loved ones laugh until the very end. His memory will be endlessly cherished.

Family and friends are invited to Robert’s Liturgy of Christian Burial, Friday, January 14, 10 a.m., at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Springfield; masks are required. Burial will be at the convenience of hisfamily.
