Roland W. Bardelli


Roland Wallace Bardelli, 103, passed away peacefully at home, November 22, 2021, with his beloved daughters Debbie & Catherine by his side.

Born in Springfield to the late Louis S. & Ruth S. (Ensworth) Bardelli; he attended Technical High School. Roland honorably served his country in the US Army during World War II. In earlier years he was employed by the Springfield Armory, General Electric, and Smith & Wesson, from where he retired after 27 years of service. Roland was a member of the American Legion’s 0430 Liberty Post. He was an avid bowler and a major Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots fan.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 49 years, Hazel E. (Cocrane) Bardelli in 1986; his son, Robert Bardelli and by his brother, Stanley Ensworth. Roland is survived by his three daughters, Debbie L. Bardelli of Springfield, Janet Richards & partner David Gonyea of E. Longmeadow, and Catherine Lamoureux of Springfield; and was grand, great and great-great grandfather to many. He also leaves a dear friend, Violet Cocrane of S. Carolina.

Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, November 30, 12-1 p.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield, proceeding to Roland’s 2 p.m. burial, with full military honors, in MA Veterans' Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to the American Diabetes Association or the Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Adoption Center.
