Rose M. Monson


Rose Mary (Scibelli) Monson, 73, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2022. Born in Springfield on August 29,1949, she was the daughter of the late, John “Johnny Cake” & Leona (Collins) Scibelli.

 

Rose “Nana” lived in the Springfield area most of her life. She loved to travel and spent 7 years in Paris, France from 2001-2008, returning to Springfield to be with her family. 

 

She earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and worked in health & human services for over 30 years.

 

Nana had a great heart, sense of humor, and an eternal smile, especially when she went to the Dollar Store & Walmart.

 

The most important part of her life was taking care of her grandchildren. She was loved by many.

 

Rose was predeceased by her siblings, Barbara, Andrew & James Scibelli, Deborah Scibelli-Perez, and grandson, Jerry A. Hughes, III.

 

She is survived by her daughters, Marcie (Stallworth) Bynum & husband Lorenzo, Rose Marie (Stallworth) Jones & husband Thomas, sister, Linda Scibelli, brother, John Scibelli, grandchildren, Allana Stallworth, Lee’ona Hughes, and Jonathan & Devon Bynum, eight great-grandchildren, and a host of beloved nieces & nephews.

 

Family and friends are invited to visit Monday, September 12, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield. Funeral Services will be private.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
