Samuel Siracuse, Jr., 81, passed away January 15, 2022, after 8 days of hospice care at Mercy Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Wilhelmina (Coffey) Siracuse, his "better looking" brother, Robert Siracuse, his daughter, whom he lovingly referred to as his "little girl", and not just because of her height, Frances Anne Siracuse & fiancé Justin Brown, to whom Sam gave his blessings. He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel & Josephine (Mangano) Siracuse, Sr.
Sam was from Buffalo, New York and over the years lived in Hawaii, California, and Utah before finally settling in Springfield, MA, his home for the past 40+ years. He was a hard worker, always kind and easily made friends.
He loved to fish, told a great joke and laughed out loud often. He was well known in his neighborhood. He could always be seen out walking the dogs, happy to stop for a conversation and was friendly with the neighborhood kids. He was extremely kind, gentle, and thoughtful. He was loved and beloved by all of those that knew him or had encounters with him.
Sam, being of a whole different generation, where men were men, never had a problem expressing his love and appreciation for his family and friends. He will be missed greatly by his loved ones and close friends. Until we see you again, keep the heavens in good humor and full of laughter. Love you daddy/Sam.
Family and friends are invited to Sam’s Funeral Service, with full military honors, Friday, April 29, 3:00 p.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
