Skal V. Guidi

Skal Vincent Guidi, 66, was called home to the Lord on June 8, 2022, after a valiant fight. Born in Springfield on August 17, 1955, he was the adored son of the late Secundo “Skal” & Helen “Eileen” (Springer) Guidi.

After graduating from Cathedral High School, Skal earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from Western New England University. Skal became a successful financial advisor working for many years with Commonwealth Financial Network and most recently with Gradient Securities. He was a very hard-working, kind, compassionate, and generous businessman to all his clients.

Along with his parents, Skal was preceded in death by his brother, Paul, grandson, Giovanni, and brother-in-law, Bernard Kelly.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 42 years Marcia(Patrakis) Guidi. Skal and Marcia’s greatest accomplishment & joy in life was raising their 6 beloved children: Fr. Matthew Guidi, Brendan & wife Nikki, Rachel Atraga & husband Cheru, Linnea Williamson & husband Willie, Corinne Guidi, and Dorian & wife Jasmine, and sisters, Sandra Kelly and Mary Lou Newth & husband Bill. Skal loved watching his family expand and was blessed with 8 grandchildren who adored him: Malachi & Giada Williamson, Maria & Sarah Atraga, Vici & Sicily Guidi, and his expectantgrandson, Anthony Skal Guidi.

Skal loved spending time with his family & many friends, traveling, meeting with his Cursillo group, going to tag sales with his daughters, watching sports with his sons, having parties with his family, enjoying life to the fullest. He was an outstanding husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and uncle. He will be dearly missed by all who were blessed enough to have met him.

Although we will miss you, you will live on forever in your wife’s, children’s & grandchildren’s lives, and the legacy you have left behind.

Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, June 16, from 4-6 p.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield. Funeral services will begin Friday, 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, proceeding to Skal’s 10:30 a.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Michael’s Cathedral. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.

The Guidi family would like to thank everyone for your prayers and support during this very difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to: Our Lady of the Lake Parish in Southwick or the Springfield Rescue Mission.
