Theresa (Afflitto) Parisi entered into eternal rest on May 31, 2021 at the age of 99.
Born in Springfield, September 7, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Frank Afflitto and Carmella “Emma” (DeNucci) Stella-Afflitto.
A graduate of Commerce High School, Theresa went on to work as a secretary for the Government's Springfield Ordinance Department during World War II. She later worked in the bakery department at Kresge's Department Store, then Liberty Bakery in Springfield's Baystate West Building, retiring as Manager.
She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony "Tony" Parisi, daughter, Joann (Parisi) Wilson, sister, Anne (Stella) Odierna, and brothers, Frank & James Stella, and Anthony, Salvatore "Sonny" & Frank Jr., Afflitto.
Theresa leaves behind, to cherish her memory, her grandchildren, Natalie, Nathaniel Jr. & wife Crystal, and Michael Wilson & wife Kim, son-in-law, Nathaniel Wilson, 6 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Marie Albani of E. Hartford, CT, sister-in-law, Gloria Afflitto of Agawam, and many beloved nieces & nephews.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and was proud of her Italian heritage. She will be missed by her many lawn bowling league friends, as well as those from the senior centers to which she belonged.
Family and friends are invited to Theresa's Liturgy of Christian Burial Wednesday, June 9, 10 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Church. Her burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery will be private.
Theresa requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
