Travis Doyle Shaw, 76, passed away peacefully at The Wellington in Springfield, MA on February 26, in the company of his daughters. He was born in Houston, Texas on March 5, 1943, the only child to Travis and Dorothy (Dyes) Shaw. While the family moved frequently, Travis thought of Okmulgee, Oklahoma as home. Travis graduated from Oklahoma State University and spent most of his career in medical equipment sales.
Travis was a natural conversationalist with a capaciousvocabulary and loved sharing stories and jokes with family, friends, and casual acquaintances. He enjoyed basketball, whether playing, coaching his daughters’ teams, or watching the UConn Women’s team. Reading science fiction and solving crossword puzzles were other favorite pastimes.
He is survived by daughters Jessica Ruth Shaw (Josh Sturman) and Ellen Clare Shaw (Allison Ingraham), and son Kevin Shaw (Jodi); grandchildren Miranda Sturman, Dylan Shaw, Caleb Shaw, and Elijah Shaw; former spouse Kathryn Shaw, and many cousins.
