Vincenzo LoPriore, 77, passed away peacefully, October 4, 2022. Born in Mirabella, Avellino, Italy, he was the son of the late Antonio & Juana (Taurasi) LoPriore.
As a young boy, his family moved to Lanus, Argentina, the place he always called home. With a hunger for a better life, he was given an opportunity to come to America to start a family and resided in Springfield most of his life. He worked as a stone cutter, machinist for Smith & Wesson, a self-employed painter, in maintenance for MacDuffie School & New Colony Court, and a handyman. One of the biggest ventures in his life came to fruition when he opened The Norcross House Café in Monson, putting all of his passions to work! After retiring, he bought his dream home and spent several years in Mar de Plata, Argentina before returning to the United States. Always proud of his heritage, his true love in life was to serve his family, friends & neighbors with his craft and favorite dishes, “You gotta eat good!”
He was predeceased by his brothers, Pasquale, Carmelo & Fiore and sisters, Rosa & Louisa.
Vincenzo is survived by his adoring children, Maria, Anna and Antonio LoPriore, grandchildren, Nicholas & fiancée Delia, Justin, Andrew and Alex, former wife, Domenica (Giancola) LoPriore, sister Magdalena, and brother Alfredo, along with other extended family.
Family and friends are invited to visit, Thursday, October 13, from 4-6 p.m., at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield. Vincenzo’s funeral services will begin Friday morning, 9 a.m., at Tazzini Funeral Home proceeding to his 10 a.m.Liturgy of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, followed by his committal at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
