Raymond E. Pellerin, Sr.

Raymond Edward Pellerin, Sr., passed away peacefully on April 19, 2024. Ray was the beloved husband of Margaret “Peggy” Ann (Gibson) Pellerin for 61 years.

Born in Springfield, he was the son of the late Arthur O. and Nora (Menard) Pellerin.

A graduate of Cathedral High School, Ray temporarily attended Boston University before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Army as a helicopter mechanic. He went on to drive for St. Johnsbury Trucking from where he retired.

A devout Catholic, he attended mass at St. Michael’s Cathedral every Saturday; Msgr. Connolly referred to him as Mr. Chrysler 300.

Ray adored his family and was very close with each of them. He played an active role in all of their lives, and had a special place in his heart for his great-grandchildren. He enjoyed watching football and baseball; if he wasn’t watching sports then FOX News it was! He enjoyed spending time on house projects, and Ray’s greatest treasure in life was his wife Peggy.

In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by his daughter, Renee Marie Pellerin, 5 siblings, and son-in-law, Dean Kos.

Along with his beloved wife, Peggy, he leaves his daughter, Jeanne Marie Pellerin-Kos of Springfield, son, Raymond Edward Pellerin, Jr. of West Springfield, granddaughters, Justina Pellerin & Hillary Kos of Springfield, grandson, Brett Kos of Springfield, and great-grandchildren, Renee & Bentley Ray.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 24th, from 5-7 p.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield. On Thursday, all are invited to Ray’s 10:30 a.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial meeting at St. Michael’s Cathedral, proceeding to his burial, with military honors, at St. Aloisius Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Cathedral.
