Anthony J. Amato


Anthony John Amato, 73, passed away peacefully at home on November 22, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Springfield, he was the son of the late Alphonso and Helena (Park) Amato.

Tony graduated from Technical High School in 1967. He served with the US Army in the Vietnam War from 1968-1971. He was proud of his time teaching children about computers while volunteering at the Boys & Girls Club. He had a huge heart and was a very giving man. He loved his family, especially his adoring grandchildren; PaPa you will be greatly missed!

Tony was predeceased by his life partner, Linda Starkey.

He is survived by his beloved daughter, Nichole Lage & husband Jason of Ludlow, stepdaughter, Jackie Starkey of Agawam, siblings, James of Springfield, Daniel of Florida, Kathy & partner Raymond Pouliot of Holyoke, and Michael & wife Olivia of Bellingham, MA, grandchildren, Jaden, Lily, Liam & Emma Lage, nephews, Dominic & Joseph Amato, along with his extended family.

Family and friends are invited to visit, Friday, December 2nd, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield, proceeding to Anthony's 11 a.m. Committal Prayer Service, with full military honors, at the MA Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
