Carmella V. Serafino


Carmella “Millie” V. (Moscarella) Serafino, 93, formerly of Springfield, passed away peacefully at her home on March 9, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on March 8, 1931, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of the late Michael & Vincenza (Iannelli) Moscarella.

Millie was a special person with many interests. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, knitting, crochet, and travelled to many places around the world. She was a great cook, renowned for her lasagna. She was a generous woman who loved America and was an active supporter of the USO and many other organizations and charities. She was a faithful parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Springfield since its founding in 1961. She loved to laugh and had a great sense of humor. Above all, she thoroughly loved and cared for her family. She will be missed by many.

She is survived by her daughters, Ann Ward and husband James of Chicopee, MA, Susan Snider and husband Robert of Ormond Beach, FL, and son, Joseph and wife Dena of Milford, NH, as well as her two grandsons, Vincent and Thomas whom she loved very much. She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Carm, sister, Frances, and her son, Michael.

Family and friends are invited to visit Friday, March 22,from 9-10 a.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street in Springfield, proceeding to Carmella’s 11 a.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Catherine of Sienna Parish. Burial will follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
